An industrial-inspired high-rise for city dwellers

Located in the fashionable West Loop neighborhood of downtown Chicago, 900 West forms a distinctive new, certified LEED GOLD residential hub for today’s city dwellers

The Northworks team was tasked with designing a condominium building that could be constructed within as little as 12 months – without compromising on quality. As such, the space was designed with engineering efficiency in mind. It also creates an architectural language aligned to the historic industrial warehouses populating the surrounding area – in their day, these were also designed for utility and efficiency. The recently completed space features 22 luxury residences in total, including a collection of two-to-four bedroom apartments, plus two duplex penthouse units.

The design concept envisaged by our dynamic team drew inspiration from the city’s historic warehouse construction, influencing everything from 900 West’s architecture to its strong structural expression.

Complementing this, the interior palette creates a modern, clean-lined aesthetic reflective of 21 st century lifestyles with luxurious finishes from Italian custom chef’s kitchens to private terraces.

STANDOUT FEATURES

The entire building is shaped by cast concrete, complete with radiant heat and polished concrete floors throughout. Every unit in the building can be accessed via private elevator. Each residence has been built to maximize light and space, complete with floor-to-ceiling windows that capture the sights of the city. Gracing the top of the structure, the two spacious duplex penthouses offer even more expansive skyline views of downtown Chicago.
